How this website handles your data
A plain summary of what the current Jor's Hacos website does. It adds to the policy below and does not replace it.
What we collect
When you place an order we ask for your name, phone number, governorate, address, a nearby landmark and an optional note, together with the items you ordered. We use them to confirm, prepare and deliver your order.
Your cart
The items in your cart are kept in your browser, on your own device, so they are still there if you reload the page. The name, phone number and governorate you type at checkout may also be remembered on your device to speed up your next order. To learn which channel (for example Instagram or WhatsApp) brings us orders, your device also remembers for 7 days where you came from, and we send that with your order only if you place one; it never includes your name, phone number or address, we ourselves do not pass it to any other company (the shop's advertising pixels, when switched on, can however see the address of the page you open and the page you came from: see “Cookies, advertising pixels and fonts” below), it is not a cookie, and nothing is kept if your browser sends “Do Not Track” or “Global Privacy Control”. You can clear this at any time in your browser's settings.
Where your order goes
When you send an order, it is passed to the shop's order-management system, which our team uses to prepare the order and arrange its delivery.
Payment
This website does not ask for, receive or store any card or bank details.
Cookies, advertising pixels and fonts
This website itself does not set tracking cookies. When the shop's advertising is switched on, small pixels from Meta (Instagram and Facebook), TikTok and Snapchat run on the pages. They tell those platforms which pages and products were viewed, what was added to the bag and the total of an order, so that the shop can measure its ads and show them to people who may like them, and they may set their own cookies. They never receive your name, phone number, address or e-mail. They are not loaded at all if your browser sends "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control". Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser contacts Google's font servers when a page opens.
Miss Jor's Hacos, the AI assistant
When you write to Miss Jor's Hacos, your question is sent to a third-party AI service to produce the answer. We keep a copy of the question and the answer for 30 days to improve the service, without your name, address or phone number (numbers and e-mail addresses are blanked automatically). Please do not type personal details into the chat.

Your account and the verification code
This applies if you create a customer account on this website. Browsing, searching and filling your cart never need an account. When the shop has switched accounts on, an account is needed to place an order through the website.
What an account stores
Your name (first name and family name), your mobile phone number, your e-mail address (the shop may ask for it when you sign up; it is contact information only: we never use it to sign you in and never send it to the message provider), a one-way scrambled form of your password (we cannot read your password), the date you created the account, whether your phone number has been verified, the number of orders you placed through the website with it and the date of the last one, the delivery details you used last (so the checkout can be filled in for you), and the references of your recent orders. If our team helps you, it may also keep a short internal support note on your account.
Why
To recognise you when you order, to show you your orders, to fill in your checkout, and to make sure the phone number on an account really belongs to the person who created it. Our team also sees, on an order, whether it comes from an account, how many orders that account has placed and its e-mail address if there is one.
Verifying your phone number
When you create an account, and when you ask to reset a forgotten password, this website makes a one-time code and sends it to your phone by WhatsApp or SMS. To deliver it, the website passes your phone number, the code and the network address your request came from (the provider uses it to detect abuse) to the third-party messaging provider that delivers the message. The provider therefore receives your phone number and the code. This website checks the code itself: it works once, it is valid for a short time (10 minutes) and it is deleted when used or expired. We do not use your phone number for advertising. The provider handles the data it receives under its own terms. For now only Asiacell and Zain Iraq mobile numbers can create an account, because of how the codes are delivered.
The sign-in cookies
Signing in sets two small cookies in your browser. The first is a random sign-in token, so that you stay signed in for up to 90 days; it is removed when you sign out. The second is a signed "known device" mark, kept for up to 180 days, that lets your own phone or computer sign in even while somebody else keeps guessing passwords for your number; it holds no personal details, it cannot sign anybody in, and it stays when you sign out (clear your browser's cookies to remove it). Neither is used for tracking or advertising, so what is said above about tracking cookies does not change.
How long we keep it
An account is kept for as long as you use it, or until you ask us to delete it. A sign-up whose phone number was never verified is removed automatically after about 30 days. Codes are deleted when they are used or expire. Order records are kept for as long as needed to prepare, deliver and account for your orders.
Asking us to delete your account
Write to [email protected], or message us on WhatsApp or Instagram from the phone number of the account, and ask us to delete it. We will delete the account and its sign-ins; records of orders already placed may be kept as described above.
